Collages with Linocuts by 6th Graders at Kearny

These are collages made from magazines and linocuts. The linocuts in black and white were posted Monday , and hand-colored versions were posted earlier today. This is a project I lead at 3 elementary schools through the Wagner Free Institute of Science's SNAP(Science, Nature, and Art in Philadelphia) Program.

This is the third year I've lead a linocut printmaking project with 6th graders at Kearny School through the Wagner's SNAP program (see previous year's posts of work here and here.) These first proofs in black and white are, as always, pretty awesome. Later this week they'll be adding color and making collages with their prints.

Last month I posted images of wildlife and botanical illustrations by 6th graders at Morris Elementary. I worked with them through the Wagner Free Institute for Science's SNAP program. For the final portion of their art curriculum the students took some of their prints and worked them into creative collages. Here are some of my favorites from Morris.
