Two Butterfly Prints: Fruits and Flowers

Two linocuts, hand colored with watercolors. Each is 17" x 14". I created these to submit my idea for a giant butterfly to be displayed in an outdoor exhibition at the Morris Arboretum this summer.

UPDATE: I got the job! I will be creating a much larger version of these prints to decorate a big butterfly - woo hoo! The exhibition is "Butterflies, Bees, and Blooms: A Pollinators Paradise" at the Morris Arboretum, June 28-September 30.

"Four Season Finches"

Four Season Finches
Linocut with oil based ink and chine collé on white Stonehenge
10" x 15"
Edition of 34

This was for Baren Forum Exchange #99. When I bought my first house, one of the first things I did was plant sunflowers, and I was thrilled to find that they attracted beautiful yellow finches. I didn't know then that the finches lose their bright yellow plumage in the fall/winter. Now every summer I look forward to seeing these beautiful little birds in their summer coats.

"Buford" (hand colored version)

Buford
Woodcut, hand colored with watercolors
7.5" x 10"
Artist's Proof

I made this woodcut for Baren Forum Exchange #98. It memorializes Buford, a black and tan coonhound we adopted in April of this year. He was a great dog. Friendly, calm, and loved nothing more than to go on long walks. I walked him 3-5 times a day for the entire 8 months we were lucky enough to have him as part of our family. Sadly, Buford developed cancer and we had to say goodbye soon after Thanksgiving. Sad we had him for such a short time, but glad to have given him a nice retirement.

UNEARTHED - Opening January 11

I am so excited and honored to have been awarded the Rebeccah Milena Maia Blum Curatorial Fellowship for 2025! I'm curating the exhibition Unearthed at the Alber Gallery at Allen's Lane Art Center. The show featured figural ceramic work by Meri Adelman, June Terrell, and Gail Lloyd. Getting to know these artists over the past few years, I saw something truly profound and powerful in bringing their work together.
The opening with curator and artists' talks is SATURDAY, JANUARY 11, 5PM, and the show will be up through February 8.
Don't miss seeing this magic in clay!

"Two Dogs" (Mutlu and Pickles)

Two Dogs
Linocut, white oil-based ink on black Stonehenge
8" x 8"
Open edition of 22

This was a little linocut I did of two of my dogs for Baren Forum Exchange #97. Mutlu is the bigger dog. He was our Redbone coonhound who passed away earlier this year. The little dog is our little young jug, Pickles.

NO TIME*

This is my first venture into curating more than my own solo show or children's artwork. I'm co-curating it with Meri Adelman. The show is sponsored by Outlaw Arts Clay Studio and will be hosted at iMPeRFeCT Gallery. Eleven artists featured in the main gallery space and an installation in the Project Room featuring more local creatives. We also have a concert with Spiritual Thunder (Pauline Houston-McCall's band) and live poetry with Toni Love and Sabriaya Shipley. I'm so honored to work with all these talented artists. March is going to be an AMAZING month!

Artwork on the card is a ceramic sculpture by June Terrell, just one of the talented artists featured in this show.
